Frequently Asked Questions

Do you treat children?

Yes! We have a strong focus on paediatric dentistry and enjoy helping children feel comfortable and safe at the dentist. Our goal is to establish healthy oral hygiene habits from an early age in a fun and supportive environment.

How do I book an appointment?

You can call us, send a WhatsApp, or use our online booking form. We’ll find a time that works best for you and your family.

Do you offer preventive care and education?

Patient education is a core value at Mzimba Dental Studio. We believe that informed patients are empowered to take better care of their oral health. During visits, clear guidance and explanations are provided to help each patient understand their current oral health and how to maintain or improve it over time.

What can I do to improve my oral hygiene at home?

Brush twice daily with fluoride toothpaste, floss daily, limit sugary snacks and drinks, and stay hydrated.

How often should I visit the dentist?

We recommend a dental check-up every six months for most people. However, your needs may vary depending on your oral health, and we will personalise a care plan that’s right for you.

What are the benefits of minimally invasive dentistry?

Minimally invasive and biomimetic dentistry is a modern, conservative philosophy of care. The goal is to preserve as much of your healthy tooth as possible by using materials that closely mimic natural tooth structure. By addressing dental issues in their earliest stages, we can attempt to restore the tooth’s strength and function, helping to maintain your natural, healthy smile for years to come. This approach reflects MDS’s commitment to gentle, preventive-focused care.

Do you offer cosmetic dentistry?

Yes. Mzimba Dental Studio offers a range of cosmetic options, including professional teeth whitening and smile-enhancing treatments tailored to patient needs. These services are provided with the same patient-focused, minimally invasive approach that guides all care at the studio.

Do you offer emergency dental services?

Yes. Emergency dental care is available on weekdays until 19:00 and on Sundays, strictly for urgent dental concerns such as trauma, severe pain, or swelling.

Please note:
Emergency appointments are reserved for true dental emergencies. An after-hours emergency fee will apply. If unsure, patients are welcome to contact the practice to discuss their symptoms and determine the best next step.

Do you accept medical aids?

Yes, at Mzimba Dental Studio we accept selected medical aids. Patients are encouraged to confirm with the practice ahead of their appointment whether their medical aid is accepted and whether co-payments will apply.

What payment methods do you accept?

The practice accepts card payments and selected medical aids. Patients are welcome to contact the practice for billing queries ahead of their visit.
